You might read this and think where’s the catch? Does this really work?
Instead of us telling you “yes it does work” below is a testimonial from a person who was in the same position and availed of this very same grant last year, attend a course with us and now has his own business and has his own employees.
“It seemed that I would never be able to get off the live register when I was told I would have to go to the UK to obtain the relevant qualifications I needed to start my own business. I had been unemployed for some time and the cost of travel to the UK was out of the question.
Then I found out about KTC, the only training company in Ireland which offers the City & Guilds PA1 and PA6Inj training in the use of herbicides. KTC explained they would need 3 people to book before they would run the course. I found the people needed and we successfully completed the course in May 2015.
Since then I have started a business which is already successful and I have taken on the two other course participants as technical assistants. Without KTC’s help I would not have been able to start my own business nor provide work for two other people.
The PA1 and PA6Inj courses were well organised. KTC provided information about the courses beforehand so we knew what to expect. Each day started and ended on time and there was plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion. Each day we were given comprehensive course notes which I often referred to when I first started my business. The administration staff were helpful, efficient and friendly, and the training staff respected the knowledge and experience that I already had. We were treated very well and the course was interesting and useful.
Recently I have made arrangements with KTC to run the course for a second time. I am sending six people to this course which runs in December 2015. If my business continues to grow, these six people may also be able to come off the live register and work in related areas.” – Nicholas Head – Knotweed Injection Services
