Course Details:
Suitable for all new drivers or for drivers with little experience or no certification. As per guidance by the HSA this is a 5 day course. Accredited by the RTITB in the UK, all successful candidates receive an RTITB certificate, which is valid for 3 years. Please ensure that you are sure of which type of truck you wish to be trained on when making your booking.

Objectives:
On completion of the course participants will be able to:
Operate a forklift truck safely, reducing the risk of injury to operators and pedestrians
Use safe operating habits
Explain the differences between a forklift truck and a car
Explain the consequences of taking certain kinds of chances
Load and unload safely
Refuel/recharge forklift safely
Handle awkward loads

Practical Training:
Introduction to the forklift truck
Controls and instruments
Daily inspection, take-over and maintenance
Starting, stopping, and steering
Simple corners and manoeuvring
Operation of Hydrolic controls
Weight assessment
Handling pallets
Manoeuvring in confined spaces
Handling awkward loads
Skills tests.

Training Times: 8.30 am-4.30 pm

Who should attend? New drivers or drivers with little experience and no certification

Assessment: Participants complete a theoretical and practical exam

Certification: On successful completion of the exam participants are awarded an RTITB forklift operators beginners certificate. Candidates are reqistered on a central RTITB database. (certification valid for 3 years)

Prerequisites:
One Passport Photograph
PPE (personal protective equipment), i.e. Hard Hat, High Visibility Vest, Steel Toe Capped Boots, Gloves.
