Course Details:
Forklift driving is a skill and like all other skills regular refresher training is necessary. HSA guidance on forklift trucks states that operators should undergo refresher training to keep them from developing bad habits, or their work practices change.

On completion of the course participants will be able to:

• Display sharpened operating skills
• Rectify bad habits
• Reinforce safe practice

Safety appreciation and legislation
Video on safe Forklift operating
Operator safety
Operating practice
Daily inspection
Engineering principles
Written test (questionnaire)
Practical competence test

Duration: 1 Day

Training Times: 8.30 am-4.30 pm

Who should attend? Certified drivers who have had adequate basic training should consider attending this course. They should have previously been certified but now require their skills to be updated, due to long intervals of time between operating forklift trucks or if there is evidence of deterioration in operating performance.

Assessment: Participants complete a theoretical and practical exam

Certification: On successful completion of the exam participants are awarded an RTITB Forklift operators Refresher Certificate. (certification valid for 3 years)

Prerequisites:
Valid forklift operators licence
One Passport Photograph
PPE (personal protective equipment), i.e. Hard Hat, High Visibility Vest, Steel Toe Capped Boots, Gloves.
