The Quarries Skills Certification Scheme (QSCS)

The aims of the QSCS training course are to provide participants with quarry training that will help them become competent and confident using quarry machinery. This quarry training course also provides the opportunity for participants to gain the skills and knowledge they need to use quarry machinery competently.

Quarry Pass (QSCS) Card

From November 2009 all candidates working in a Quarry with any item of plant listed below must hold a FAS QSCS pass card to comply with the requirements of the Quarries Regulations 2008.

Candidates who currently hold a CSCS card are also required to hold a QSCS card

• Articulated Dumper
• Rigid Dumper
• Front End Loader (Loading Shovel)
• Tractor/Dozer
• Telescopic Handler
• Mobile Crane
• Slinging/Signalling
• 180° Excavator
• Mini Digger
• Site Dumper

Certification: On successful completion candidates will be awarded a QSCS Pass Card.
