Abrasive Wheels Training Course Aim:

To provide abrasive wheels training course participants with the knowledge, skills and attitude to enable operative use of the equipment safely. It also provides an understanding of abrasive wheels instructing delegates in all aspects of the correct mounting, setting and use of abrasive wheels.

  • ABWT Introduction
  • Construction Site Safety Awareness
  • Health and Safety Legislation
  • Abrasive Wheel Selection
  • Wheel Storage
  • Wheel types and markings
  • Theoretical Examination
  • Practical Examination
  • Abrasive Wheel Selection – Testing and mounting of new wheel
  • Cleaning, inspection, labeling and recording.

Training Course – Duration/Time

Duration: ½ Day

Training Times: 8.00 am-12.30 pm

Training Course Assessment:

Theory and Practical Examination

Training Course Certification:

On successful completion training course candidates will be awarded with an KTC Ltd card.

Training Course Prerequisites:

  • 6 months operational experience
  • One Passport Photograph
  • Safe pass course completed
  • PPS Number
  • PPE(personal protective equipment), i.e. Hard Hat, High Visibility Vest, Steel Toe Capped Boots, Gloves.

 

The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical training. Our Training and assessment programme enables experienced drivers to gain the necessary training. Successful Abrasive Wheels Training course candidates get certified after demonstrating their skills and knowledge.
