9th September Deadline for CPC
- Truck Drivers must have 1 module completed by 9th Sept
- Bus Driver must have 2 modules completed by 9th Sept
The RSA quoted:
"Please note that all truck drivers are obliged to have their first day of Driver CPC periodic training completed by the 9th of September 2010 in order to maintain their Driver CPC qualification. Bus drivers are obliged to have completed their second day of periodic training by this date also"
They also went on to say
"There will be no extension to this date and it would be appreciated if you could inform drivers who contact you of the importance of adhering to this requirement and maintaining their Driver CPC qualification on time"

Confined Space Entry Now Available |

It will meet all standards for those who may be required to work in confined spaces and participate in the emergency procedures from within a confined space.
The practical exam will include: Entry into a Confined Space, Access Equipment (Tripod, Harness & Winch) Gas Detector & Ten minute escape set (Breathing Apparatus)

RSA Driver CPC Course Now Available |

KTC are now delighted to offer Driver CPC.
Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competency) was introduced across the EU from 10th September 2008 for professional bus drivers and 10th September 2009 for professional truck drivers.
Its purpose is to set and maintain high standards of road safety, health and safety and driving among professional drivers (those who drive for a living) of buses and trucks.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) |

FAS have now introduced a scheme for plant operators who have experience in driving the plant items on the FAS CSCS list but who are not holders of a current CSCS card. The new process is designed to assist experienced operators who have the appropriate skills to safely operate the plant but not the formal training. These candidates can now apply to have their experience/certification recognised in order to take part in a one day assessment. Click here for further information. |

NEBOSH International General Certificate course in Health & Safety |

Research has identified that health and safety management and consultancy is virtually “recession proof” in most sectors on a global scale. After all, health and safety management is governed by law throughout the world, in other words safety is not an option for companies.
At KTC we are pleased to announce that we will be delivering the NEBOSH International General Certificate course in Health & Safety at our Midlands Training Centre in Portlaoise. This certificate has global recognition and will lead to prestigious membership of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety & Health) as well as the IIRSM (International Institute of Risk & Safety Management). On successful completion of the International Certificate course you will receive your Internationally recognised NEBOSH certificate in Occupational Health & Safety. This course has level 5 recognition in Ireland.
KTC will also be delivering the IOSH Managing safely Certificate Course which is a Level 4 qualification in Ireland and also has global recognition. IOSH are world leaders as an Institution for safety and health. They have established International mutual agreements and centres in Ireland, the UK, Asia, Australia, the Middle East, The Far East, Hong Kong, The Caribbean etc. The Managing Safely programme provides candidates with a qualification to enable them to manage health and safety in the workplace as Safety Officers and/or Managers.

New Entrants Course & CSCS Updates |

KTC can now offer the New Entrants Courses over a reduced period of 3 days
An experienced Crane operator with a valid Experienced FAS CSCS Crane card, and who wishes to add Slinger/Signaller, will be allowed to complete the one-day experienced CSCS Slinger/Signaller programme.
Any person who has not renewed their CSCS experienced plant operators card within the required time frame will be allowed to undertake the CSCS one-day experienced training /assessment programme to re-gain their CSCS card.
An experienced FAS CSCS Mini Excavator operator card holder who wishes to add 360 Excavator above 6 tonne to their CSCS card will be allowed to complete the one-day experienced CSCS 360 Excavator programme. |

Digital Tachograph Training |

KTC are now delighted to offer Digitac courses for Drivers & Managers. Candidate numbers are controlled to ensure all candidates have access to a PC and receive hands on Digitac Simulator training.
