Safety Statements

KTC’S SAFETY STATEMENTS SERVICE TO YOUR BUSINESS

What is a Safety Statement?

A Safety Statement is a company’s documented programme for ensuring the Safety, Health and Welfare of employees while at work. Your Safety Statement also includes the Safety and Health of other people who might be at the workplace, including customers, visitors and members of the public.

Safety Statements and The Law

Safety Statements are required by law for all organisations and the self employed under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 (section 20).

What can happen if you breach this legislation?

The Health and Safety Authority has the right to publish names and addresses of those subjected to a prohibition notice with High Court Order or a penalty following a court conviction.

You are likely to be asked for a copy of your Safety Statement by your Insurance Company (not all will ask for a Safety Statement when taking out a policy but will request it if a claim is made) also Clients, Landlords, Safety Reps, HSA Inspectors and others. Through consultation at the workplace, Kearney Training & Consultancy offers a full Safety Statement service in order to produce a rigorous company-specific Safety Statement that includes policies “specific” to your organisation, and for self employed persons.

safety-statement

Fulfilling your legal obligations, every business is required under Irish Law to hold a company-specific Safety Statement. Poorly attempted templates will not suffice. Your Safety Statement documents the safe working practices and policies of your business.

At KTC Ltd, we will fulfil your legal obligations to possess a company-specific Safety Statement. We carry out Risk Assessments at workplaces using a numerical (quantitative) methodology and compile your comprehensive Safety Statement based on this information.
Every Safety Statement that we compile is unique as it is specific to a particular business which is required by law in Ireland.

Value for Your Safety Statement Investment

For this service, we operate a sliding scale of charges which would require further detail and information on the size and activities of your business. This way we can quote an accurate price for your Safety Statement.

The cost includes;

  • An initial consultation session including risk assessments with a Safety Consultant \ Risk Assessor.
  • Preparation of your complete legally compliant Safety Statement.
  • Delivery with further advice and consultation.

Safety Statement Updates

The enactment of the Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 resulted in the requirement that all previous Safety Statements be amended or updated in accordance with this new piece of legislation. If we have compiled your Safety Statement, we will have all your information securely stored electronically at our offices, therefore an update is only a phone call away.
